Ascendance of a Bookworm Light Novel Series Nears Conclusion in 2023 – News

The 32nd, 33rd volume of the novel will be released in spring, winter 2023


Advertising inside Miya Kazukiit’s the 31st The rise of a bookworm (Honzuki no Gekokujō – Shisho ni Naru Tame niwa Shudan or Erandeiramasen) The novel’s volume “biblia fantasy” (pictured right) announced on Dec. 10 that the story is nearing its conclusion in 2023. Volume 32 will be released next spring, and volume 33 is slated for next winter. (The announcement did not specify whether the final volume is volume 33 or later.)

Aside from the two volumes scheduled for next year, the ninth light novel drama CD will also be released next spring, while the tenth drama CD and eighth fan book will be released this winter. A third collection of short stories, the side story Hannelore no Kizokuin Gonenseiand other related publications are in the works.

Kazuki started the original novels on the “Shōsetsuka ni Narō” website in 2013, and You Shiina illustrates the paper edition. The fourth part Suzuka manga adaptation had a total of five volumes compiled between March 2021 and November 2022.

J Novel Club is releasing both the light novels and manga adaptation of Suzuka in English. He describes the story:

A certain college student who has loved books since she was a child dies in an accident and is reborn in another world that she knows nothing about. Now she is Myne, the ailing five-year-old daughter of a poor soldier. To make matters worse, the world she was reborn into has a very low literacy rate and mostly books don’t exist. You would have had to pay an enormous amount of money to buy one. Myne resolves: if there are no books, she’ll just have to make them! Her goal is to become a librarian. This story begins with her quest to create books so she can live surrounded by them! Dive into this biblio-fantasy written for book lovers and bookworms!

The light novel inspired a television anime adaptation with three seasons. The first season of the anime aired in two parts. The first part premiered in October 2019 and ended in December 2019 with 14 episodes. Crunchyroll streamed the anime as it aired in Japan and also streamed an English one dubbing. The second part premiered in Japan in April 2020. Two original anime videos (OVA) debuted a limited edition of the first novel of the fifth part of the series in March 2020.

The second season premiered in October 2020 and Crunchyroll streamed the anime as it aired in Japan. The third season of the anime premiered on April 11. Crunchyroll streamed season 3 as it aired and started streaming an english dubbing on May 16th.
