BITPOINT launches Japanese Weeks for crypto users in Latin

MEDELLÍN, Colombia, Dec. 26, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — BITPOINT Latam, with its origins from BITPOINT Japan under JFSA license, has launched Japanese Weeks for its crypto users in Latin America, a period of training and business activities aimed at promoting the use, trade and development of new products based on cryptocurrencies in Latin America.

According to the latest Global Adoption report from Chainalysis, Latin America is one of the fastest growing regions in terms of cryptocurrency adoption. Remittances, investments, and hedging against inflation and local currency devaluations are driving the adoption of cryptocurrencies in the region. Venezuela, Argentina, Colombia, Brazil and Ecuador are the countries with the highest use of cryptocurrencies in Latin America.

“Our Japan Weeks are intended to build cryptographic knowledge and culture necessary for the development of the sector in Latin America. Adoption is evolving rapidly because Bitcoin and other crypto assets have the foundation to help people protect themselves from failures structures of Latin America’s archaic financial system. It’s time to build a new way of banking for emerging markets and Latin America is the perfect scenario for that,” said Julian Geovo, director of operations for BITPOINT for Latin America.

The BITPOINT Japan Weeks will run from December 26th to January 31st.

BITPOINT landed in Panama in 2018 and began its regional expansion in Latin America. BITPOINT Latam is currently the most popular cryptocurrency exchange in the region, with active operations in Colombia, Panama, Ecuador, Peru, Guatemala, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay.

“We are proud of our Japanese heritage. Strong operational know-how and compliance policies have helped us become the cryptocurrency exchange with the largest presence in Latin America. We are currently working with local regulators to make the cryptocurrencies that are safe for users and transparent for authority even in this part of the world. We thank our Japanese partners BITPOINT and its Tokyo Stock Exchange-listed parent company, Remixpoint Inc, including distinguished directors Genki Oda, Yoshihiko Takahashi and Yuji Nakagomi for all their support.” Jehovah added.
