Governor Ducey Launches One Stop Shop for Starting a Business in Arizona

The newly streamlined Arizona Business One Stop process makes it easier to plan, start and grow a business in the state

PHOENIX — Governor Doug Ducey and the Arizona Department of Government today launched Arizona Business One Stop, an easily accessible online place for small businesses and entrepreneurs to plan, start and grow their business in Arizona.

“One of my administration’s top priorities has been making Arizona the best place in the nation to do business.” said Governor Ducey. “We’ve eliminated or improved burdensome regulations, lowered taxes so more Arizonans can keep their hard-earned cash, and created a world-class business environment. For the past eight years, we’ve taken action to keep government running at the speed of business and not hinder entrepreneurship and innovation. Now, with this streamlined interagency process, starting a business in Arizona has never been easier.”

Rather than going from one state agency to another to access and store the information needed to start or expand a business in Arizona, Business One Stop brings together previously disparate processes into one centralized location.

Entrepreneurs will no longer have to navigate government bureaucracy with duplicate documents, in-person meetings, multiple accounts, lengthy lead times, and multiple state agencies to get their business started.

The move was the latest in a series of actions Governor Ducey has taken over the past eight years to streamline business in the state, and the nation is taking note. Attracted to Arizona booming economylower fixed fee in the country, minimalist regulatory environment and highly skilled workforce, businesses and people are flocking to Arizona.

These entrepreneurial newcomers will benefit from the new savvy process. The system is secure, digital and personalized and provides guided planning checklists, a streamlined application process, expedited processing times, built-in customer support and an automated cost calculator. Entrepreneurs can expect new additions to the system in the coming months, including the management of state-owned and foreign enterprises, as well as the integration of state, city and county licensing entities.

The Department of Administration spearheaded the consolidation of Business One Stop, bringing together the Secretary of State, the Arizona Corporation Commission, the Department of Revenue and the Arizona Commerce Authority to create the new application. The initiative was supported by Representative Jeff Weninger in the 2019 legislative session.

“This project would not have been accomplished without the leadership and prioritization from the Governor, funding from the Legislature, and a willingness from all state agencies involved to review their processes and come together to work together to create an experience better for entrepreneurs,” said Andy Tobin, director of the Arizona Department of Administration.

“With Business One Stop, Arizona demonstrates once again why we are the best place to start and grow a business,” said Sandra Watson, President and CEO of the Arizona Commerce Authority. “Arizona residents shouldn’t have to waste time on redundant paperwork to turn their good idea into a business, and with Business One Stop, they won’t have to. My thanks to Governor Ducey and our Legislature for their continued leadership and to our many partners in state government for working together to support small business owners.”

“Arizona has become known as a great place to do business, and Business One Stop will mark a turning point for those looking to get started,” said Rob Woods, director of the Arizona department of revenue. “It provides an easier and smoother way to set up your business and takes a lot of the guesswork out of the process. The Arizona Department of Revenue is proud to be a part of this beneficial service.”
