It’s the season to dress up, and this year, there’s even more reason to be bold with your holiday fashion choices.

How come? Because designers and celebs have gone wild for all things glittery and sensational, making the holiday season a joy — and, let’s face it, we could all do with some mood-boosting pieces right now.

Take Beyonce, for example. Inspired by Studio 54 and the New York disco scene of the 1970s, the singer and her style icon has sported an array of stunning sparkly, lamé and rhinestone-encrusted looks since the release of her album Renaissance.

Brands like Burberry and Halpern gave us the old dazzling glow on their fall/winter runways too, with jeweled ‘nude’ dresses and multi-colored sequin co-ords.

And fashion fans are following suit, with styling service Stitch Fix ( reporting a huge increase in searches for ‘sequins’ (322%) and ‘metallics’ (115%) on the platform a November, as shoppers search for “clubwear.”

While red is traditionally the color of Christmas, pink has taken over since the arrival of the ‘Barbiecore’ trend and Valentino Creative Director Pierpaolo Piccioli’s viral Pink PP collection, and is making its way into the holiday season as well.

Offering maximum impact for minimum expense, fuchsia is everywhere on the high streets, in everything from cocktail dresses and sequined separates to handbags and the season’s must-have platform heels.

As for accessories, if you’re looking for ways to spruce up a classic black dress or LBD, look no further than runway-inspired beaded clutches and stilettos.
