Set in the present day Los Angeles, Time is eternal enter the mind of a famous writer, writing her latest novel, which imagines the fictional meeting of two legendary women. Cleopatra VIII, Queen of Egypt during the 1st century BC, she comes face to face with the English writer-women’s rights activist Maria Wollstonecraftmother of Frankenstein author Mary Shelley.

A powerful ode to female strength and equality, the film chronicles a soulful discussion between these two pioneers. Both known as lovers and as warriors for a cause, the fighter and writer contemplate their different approaches to leadership, culminating in a shared passion that is eternally intertwined.

“We wanted to highlight the power of women throughout history, in a world previously dominated by men,” Lir says. “I am deeply attached to Berite’s purpose of informing a younger generation about the impactful (and underrepresented) contribution of these women to the creation of our culture.”

Labelle deftly supports four roles in her debut film: playing the writer, Cleopatra, Wollstonecraft and a mermaid, who symbolizes swimming through another dimension in time.

“You can create anything with imagination and love,” says Labelle. “I wish to create beautiful moments from my imaginary world. Gratitude, knowledge and patience are the other elements I needed to conceive Time is eternal. Follow me on my journey of discovery through time in the movies.”

Filmed at The Paramour Estate in Silver Lake neighborhood of Los Angeleswith opulent early 20th century period décor, the surreal and dreamlike imagery has a fashion focus.

“I want audiences to be overwhelmed by the beauty and taken into a world of magic and inspiration that helps them forget their problems and everything we’ve been through as a human race in recent years,” says Bennett.

Hollywood stylist and costume designer Leninv (who worked with Saweetie, Baby Rexha and Iggy Azalea) mostly sourced vintage pieces for the film.

“It was really cool to recreate historical moments through the lens of fashion on film,” says Leninv. “Every character was about empowering women, and I wanted to push it further and bring a fashion element to the characters and a sexier edge. I thought, ‘What can we create in female energy for Gen Z and beyond?’ I really want to thank the designer Michele Hébert And Eli Madi for helping to bring Mary and Cleopatra, respectively, to life as I had imagined them.”
