Get ready and fly them, Louisville. Topgolf is finally ready to open.
The massive entertainment center with over 100 helm stations will welcome customers to Oxmoor Center for the first time on Friday. The three-story complex is hard to miss at 301 Oxmoor Lane near the Interstate 264 ramp on Shelbyville Road, and officials behind the project say golfers shouldn’t be the only ones eager to give it a try.
“It doesn’t matter if you’ve never picked up a club before. Topgolf welcomes everyone and we find that your skill level doesn’t really play a part in your enjoyment with us,” Gen Gray, the company’s chief operating officer, told The Courier Journal. and we look forward to welcoming our new Louisville neighbors.”
Those Louisville neighbors will be able to blast as many golf balls on the driving range as they like once the complex has its grand opening over the weekend. Reservations are currently sold out for Friday, but Hollie Patierno, director of operations at Louisville Topgolf, said walk-ins are welcome.

The property’s proximity to the Oxmoor Center is a plus: It’s a separate building from Louisville’s East Mall, but the venues share the same ownership, making it easier for shoppers to drop by for a few swings and grab a drink at one of the venues. structure several bars, offering many unique Louisville bourbons and beers.
“It’s something I personally did when I came to the market,” Patierno joked. “I’ve sampled more beer in the last 30 days than in the last five years.”
Golf is the big selling point of the new headquarters, after all it’s in the name. Topgolf Louisville features 102 driving stations equipped with “Toptracer” technology, which allows players to track the speed, distance and height of their golf ball, giving them the ability to play interactive games such as Angry Birds and Jewel Jam . The outdoor bays are air-conditioned, with fans to keep players cool during the warmer months and heaters to operate during the cooler months.
However, Topgolf Louisville has other options to entertain attendees who might not be interested in hitting the links, including bars on all three floors serving local drinks, something that only one other Topgolf facility, in Las Vegas, offers. Patierno said he wanted to bring the best of the Louisville brewery scene for a more local vibe to the venue, along with a bourbon-heavy menu of local favorites like Angel’s Envy and Old Forester.
Topgolf Louisville also has other games ready for visitors who aren’t interested in golf, with options like foosball, cornhole, and shuffleboard. Free WiFi is also available to those in attendance.
“Topgolf is fun for everyone,” Patierno said. “We’re everyone’s game and we really mean it when we say it.”

Ample parking is also available. Jeanine McKenzie, director of sales at Louisville Topgolf, said the venue’s parking lot is the largest at a Topgolf since the business started in the UK in 2000 and established a US presence in 2005.
It goes without saying that the place is built for large parties, with enough space to seat up to 1,800 people. Groups of eight or fewer people can schedule a visit up to two weeks apart, and larger parties can make reservations up to a year in advance. And you don’t even have to leave your house to check the wait time — Patierno said prospective players can download the Topgolf app and join the waitlist early.
Topgolf Louisville is the company’s 82nd global location and first in the Bluegrass State, with more than 500 local employees. Patierno said company officials have high hopes for the opening weekend and beyond.
“We expect to be very popular, and that’s great,” Patierno said. “Having 102 bays open over 12 hours a day really gives us the ability to have a lot of people here.”
